DAY 1 : Arrival to RIGA
Arrival to the city, optional transfer to the Hotel Radisson Blu Ridzene***** or comparable, check-in, welcome meeting with the tour leader and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel and morning dedicated to the guided visit of Riga. The heart of Riga lies in its old town. Each step on its cobbled streets reveals a page of the eight centuries long history of the city. It is small enough to make you feel at home and at the same time also big enough to keep you enraptured by its history and UNESCO world heritage. During your free visit you will discover the most historical spots of the old town like the Cathedral, the Riga Castle, the Swedish Gate, the St. Peter’s Church, the Dome square, the building of the Three Brothers and the Freedom monument. The tour will finish in the old town main square where you can enjoy the Christmas market. In the afternoon we propose an optional visit to the Art Nouveau district ending with a warm and typical latvian drink. In the evening we’ll enjoy a ballet or opera performance at the Latvian National Opera or European Christmas festival. Overnight.
For the morning we offer an optional visit to the Riga Motor Museum. The Riga Motor Museum roots lay in the Antique Automobile Club of Latvia traditions, member enthusiasm and passion towards antique vehicles as an aesthetic value and part of cultural heritage. The optional guided shopping tour in the afternoon will take us to interior decoration and design stores, art galleries and fashion boutiques in the Old Town with the main focus on local brands and artists. En route we enjoy a warm cup of coffee with Latvian Christmas pastry at a cosy café. In the evening an optional farewell dinner at the elegant Restaurant Forest is on offer..
